About Lauren M McIntyre
Fun Fact: I enjoy baking. It provides me with a steady supply of instantly gratifying successful work product. I use systems genetics to integrate genomic, transcriptomic, metabolomic and other “omic” scale data. I have a long-standing interest in sex-dimorphism in Drosophila focused on gene expression regulation and alternative splicing. More broadly, I am interested in the link between gene expression and chromatin, gene expression and organismal phenotype, and fundamentally how genetic variation percolates through the system. Using Drosophila as a springboard, the group works on developing statistical and computational methods that elucidate gene by environment interactions with applications in host-pathogen interactions, complex disease and climate change. We enthusiastically collaborate with others to address questions about the interplay between genetic variation and the environment and we are always looking for new questions and the next exciting technology.
